This issue of Disegnoallitaliana illustrates and collects the materials of the second stage of an itinerary that the magazine is carrying out in Italy- a journey into living, working, and producing between the Alps and the Mediterranean. In particular, it focuses on the “east wind” that blows between Lecce and Salento. This is why Salento’s architecture, design, and graphics are described in detail through projects, images, and texts. The special dossier then questions how it still makes sense to talk about “drawing as a sign” in today’s digital age and how it is possible to find an Italian continuity in it. In doing so, once again, the magazine raises the question of a characteristic sign in the representation of architecture, city, object, communication, and image, offering food for thought on its necessity as a pre-figuration of the project’s identity.
