Description
Today, when frontiers have been torn down and cities become never-ending, the historical visual limits that once defined urban areas are hard to read. Only natural physical limits remain, such as, for example, the edge between land and sea. Here, we may wonder what happens when this is designed with the identification problem in mind. On the basis of this question, the book collects the outcomes of research focused on three important case studies, i.e., Copenhagen and the Oresund bridge, Venice and the MOSE project, Antwerp and the redevelopment of the quays.
