Description
In a time when the terms polycrisis, chronicity, and permacrisis are consolidating as paradigms of contemporary life, the approach to disasters needs to be even more critical. The complexity of the post-emergency phase is addressed through four “times of the temporary”: reasons, forms, habitation, and capital. In this volume, the interuniversity network “TEMP-” offers a critical reading of temporary post-emergency settlements and architectures built following the earthquake, through a composition of dialogue between the authors invited to contribute to a multidisciplinary and multisectorial research that begins and ends in the fields of architecture, landscape, and territory. What are the possible future scenarios? This is the underlying question of a plural and open path aimed at re-recognizing the capital of the temporary in its reasons, forms, and ways of inhabiting it. Can research on post-emergency temporariness in Italy’s fragile territories contribute to advancing the culture of risk, the culture of design, and the culture of habitation?
